The GW6710 Series router supports analogue leased line data and telephony services over IP-based Next Generation Networks whilst maintaining the quality of service.
The equipment can be placed in the customer’s premises or in the local exchange (central office). If the equipment is placed in the local exchange then no customer site visit is required.
The GW6710 presents an interface identical to that currently provided by legacy networks, meaning no changes are required to the customer’s equipment.
The GW6710 can migrate customers using legacy leased line networks to an NGN-based infrastructure. Such applications are:
- Analogue leased lines: the connection is permanently ‘open’ and provides dedicated and un-contended bandwidth to transmit time-sensitive and confidential material in a secure way.
- Off-premises extensions: service for customers that require remote extensions to their PBX.
- Hotline: a point-to-point communications link in which a call is automatically directed to the preselected destination without any additional action by the user when the end instrument goes off-hook.
