It is evident from a visit to the Kitchen of Liz Gilhooly that the products are made in the old fashioned way; e.g. all the jams(preserves) are made in standard saucepans and not commercial vats in order to maintain the traditional flavour.
All the Cakes are produced from the four basic ingredients of: free range eggs, sugar, margarine and flour and all the products are free from preservatives or additives.
Wedding and Special Occasion Cakes are butter based with unpreserved fruit.
Christmas in the Kitchen of Liz Gilhooly starts in August when the homemade mince is prepared and left to mature in brandy. Granny Fahy's Christmas Pudding is in big demand and again produced from an old family recipe going back 4 generations.
