Riverstown Enterprise Development Sligo(Ltd.) is celebrating The Year Of The Crafts at its Annual Vintage & Family Day Festival at The Sligo Folk Park on Saturday 4th June Bank Holiday Weekend from 12-5pm.The objective of the Year Of The Crafts is to promote the Craft Profession as an exciting and commercially viable undertaking and to create public awareness of the wealth of Craft that Ireland has to offer both at home and abroad. Part of the Festival this year at the Sligo Folk Park is dedicated to focusing on exciting and interactive Events to enthuse young people and their families about Crafts. Activities include A Working Forge and Blacksmith, Wood Turning, Wood Carving, Crochet, Creel Making,Bee Keeping, Straw Crafts, Soda Bread Making,Butter Making, Potter and Ceramicist, Weaving and Spinning, and a Tinsmith.

The Festival which will be Officially opened by Mr John Perry TD and Minister for Small Business,is a one day event will also feature a Steam Engine,Steam Lorry, Vintage Cars,Vintage Tractors,Stationery Engines,Threshing,Horse Drawn Coach,Traps etc.,Old Farm Machinery, Antique Tool Disdlay,Farm animals and Fowl,Traditional Boxy and Colcannon, Barbie Doll display,Minature Railway Display,ICA Stand and much more….

Music on the Day will be provided by “The Duets” from 3pm-5pm and our Special Guests, The Sean Nos Ar An tSionann dancers recently finalists of the All Ireland Talent Show will make a special appearance at the Festival with something for everyone young and old.The group which consist of 10 dancers from Sligo,Leitrim,Roscommon and Kerry have performed with Declan Nerney,Mike Denver and other well know Artists in the past and perform  an energetic and memorable set.

The Festival will also feature bouncing castles, face painting, colouring competion, childrens games and much more for children.

Admission prices have been reduced to €10 per Adult and children are free, provided they are accompanied by a parent.

Full Restaurant facilities and free car parking is available on which promises to be an exciting and eventful day for all the family.
