Government Grants Grant Available

Sidney McElhinney Ltd provide the following installations where grants will be provided to homeowners who invest in these energy efficiency improvements

- External Wall Insulation (20-30% of heat loss occurs) €4,000
- Internal Wall Insulation / Dry-lining (20-30% of heat loss occurs) €2,500
- High Efficiency Gas or Oil fired Boiler with heating controls upgrade (reduces energy usage by up to 20%) €700

Roof Insulation

An un-insulated or poorly insulated roof harms the environment and costs you money. Up to 30% of the heat produced in your home may be escaping from your roof if it is un-insulated. Sidney McElhinney Ltd will install the required thickness of insulation to your roof to make living conditions more comfortable and save you money in the future all while helping improve the environment

Case Study:

A typical 4 bedroom detached house (150m2) with 100mm of fibreglass insulation previously installed in the attic has an annual heating bill of €1,600. An upgrade of an extra 200mm of fibreglass insulation to the recommended 300mm thickness will save you €250 per year on your home heating bill. Average costs for this type of upgrade are approximately €700 - €1,000 excluding grant (€250)

External Wall Insulation

On average, an un-insulated or poorly insulated house loses 20 - 30% of its heat through its walls which costs you money and harms the environment. Sidney McElhinney Ltd will install the required thickness of insulation and a certified system to the outside of your house to make living conditions more comfortable and save you money in the future all while helping improve the environment. This will also give you a brand new look to the outside of your home (colour of your choice) increasing the overall value. Sidney McElhinney is a chartered applicator of the Sto External Insulation System (over 5 years installation experience) and an approved installer of the Weber External Insulation System (over 6 years installation experience)

Case Study:

A typical 4 bedroom detached house (150m2) with solid masonry or hollow block walls has an annual heating bill of €1,600. An upgrade of a certified external insulation system will save you up to €350 per year on your home heating bill and give you a brand new finish and look to the exterior of your home increasing its overall value. Average costs for this type of upgrade are approximately €10,000 - €20,000 excluding grant (€4,000)
