The Draft Village Design Statement has been published. See the VDS link above.
A steering committee has been chosen and Soltys Brewster have been appointed as consultants to work with residents, the Heritage Council, and the Local Authority to produce a Sandymount Village Design Statement for inclusion in the Development Plan.
Residents and traders on the Steering Committee are Michael Byrne, John McAlinden, Tony Reid, Joe McCarthy, Lorna Kelly, Aine Ni Chaoimh and John McCann. Local Area councillors are represented by Councillors Eoghan Murphy and Maria Parodi.
Anyone possessing old photographs or any information on the history of the village and its inhabitants can make a valuable input into the Village Design statement by contacting Lorna Kelly at 2693990 or by mobile phone 086-8699273. Even information as to when your house/road was built and by whom is of importance. If you prefer to deliver the information in writing, the address is 15 Castle Park, Sandymount. Old photographs taken on the beach would also be of help. They will be copied and returned to you.
Workshops will be held by the Consultants to elicit concerns and wishes of residents. Please watch the noticeboard in the Green and this web site for details as they become available. Paid up members will be notified by e-mail and/or leaflet.
