High Efficiency Boiler Upgrades

High Efficiency Gas & Oil Boiler – What is a high efficiency boiler?

There are two types of high efficiency boilers or condensing boilers: regular and combination. Regular condensing boilers heat your hot water through a hot water cylinder. Combination condensing boilers give you instant hot water without the need for a cylinder. Please bear in mind that not all home heating systems will be compatible with a combination boiler. Contact our office and we will tell you which type of condensing boiler, regular or combination is most suitable for your home.

High Efficiency Boiler – When do I need to change my boiler?

If your boiler is 10-15 years old then it may have decreased efficiency and need to be changed. Replacing an old boiler with a new condensing boiler and a full set of heating controls can save up to a quarter on your heating bills straight away and up to 1,300kg of CO2 year.

Why is it a good idea to do it now?

The Irish government has recognized the importance of installing high efficiency oil boilers and has made grants available through SEAI to help people pay for the installation of high efficiency boilers and energy controls. The scheme called the Home Energy Saving Scheme is available to all homes built before 2006. A grant of €700 is available for High Efficiency Boilers with Heating Controls Upgrade.

How do I get a grant?

Grants are available when installed by a credited SEAI installers. All our installers are SEAI listed and will talk you through the different systems you can use and the costs. We will guide you through the grant application system allowing you to easily apply for your grant.
