These facilities will be provided in Merlin Woods NationalSchool in Doughiska, Gort Community School, Archbishop McHale College in Tuam and Gairmscoil Mhuire in Athenry. The Autism Spectrum Disorder Units aim to integrate children with severe autism into the wider school community. Specialised facilities for children with autism have been announced for four Galway schools this term.

RainChild is a parent led group working under the Irish Autism Action Charity, offering support and assistance to local families affected by autism. The magnificent animals travelled from Keadue to Leitrim Village and returned to a warm welcome in the Saddler’s Bar. August 29th saw local pony enthusiast Jimmy Gray host a very successful ponydrive. Fun and craic ensued and a raffle raised funds for RainChild.
