We’re planning a Dublin City walk from St. Patrick’s Cathedral, winding our way down to the Four Courts. A chance for us to visit Trim again which was the venue for quite a successful photowalk last year. 30th April 2011 at Isaac’s Hotel on Store Street (opposite Police Station & Busaras Bus Station). Down Grafton Street, on to Suffolk Street, Andrew St, Trinity Street and across to Central Bank.

As I said back in December 2009, it was my intent to organise one photowalk a month for the year and although it looked a bit ropey heading into the latter part of 2010, the one. I’m organizing a photowalk for Saturday September 11 in conjunction with the Galway City hackperspace, 091 Labs. We’ll take in a bit of snow and/or slush photography, street photography and whatever else presents itself.

What photography has allowed me to do however is to capture those images and memories and to share them with others. I remember one birthday many moons ago he gave me an slr as a present but all I saw was a big, clunky camera. My first two cameras used 110mm film in a little case and when I went to college I bought my first film SLR. Everyday we are surrounded by breathtaking images, may they be landscapes, people, objects or situations.

This is the first year Galway City has a Christmas Market, it will be on Eyre Square and will feature about 70 stalls with approximately 2/3 of them run by continental traders. No better chance to photograph a ruined keep in a mysteriously misty, wet and rainy forest is to be found than in Galway City on July 2 coming, from 10am-3pm.
