We’re planning a Dublin City walk from St. Patrick’s Cathedral, winding our way down to the Four Courts. A chance for us to visit Trim again which was the venue for quite a successful photowalk last year. 30th April 2011 at Isaac’s Hotel on Store Street (opposite Police Station & Busaras Bus Station). Down Grafton Street, on to Suffolk Street, Andrew St, Trinity Street and across to Central Bank.

As I said back in December 2009, it was my intent to organise one photowalk a month for the year and although it looked a bit ropey heading into the latter part of 2010, the one. I’m organizing a photowalk for Saturday September 11 in conjunction with the Galway City hackperspace, 091 Labs. We’ll take in a bit of snow and/or slush photography, street photography and whatever else presents itself.

What photography has allowed me to do however is to capture those images and memories and to share them with others. I remember one birthday many moons ago he gave me an slr as a present but all I saw was a big, clunky camera. My first two cameras used 110mm film in a little case and when I went to college I bought my first film SLR. Everyday we are surrounded by breathtaking images, may they be landscapes, people, objects or situations.

This is the first year Galway City has a Christmas Market, it will be on Eyre Square and will feature about 70 stalls with approximately 2/3 of them run by continental traders. No better chance to photograph a ruined keep in a mysteriously misty, wet and rainy forest is to be found than in Galway City on July 2 coming, from 10am-3pm.

It’ll be a citywalk through the streets and along the riverbanks of Limerick, passing by many landmarks of interest and will also include the very popular Milk Market. At this minute there are 34 ships registered to take part in the race with some more expected to join between now and the arrival of the ships. An inaugural photowalk for the city of Limerick, very centrally located so people from all over the country have the chance to attend.
