At McIntyre O'Brien Solicitors, we believe that all persons who become involved in the criminal justice system, whether they have come to the attention of the Gardai and/or are faced with a criminal charge, should be afforded their constitutionally protected rights to reasonable access of a solicitor, the right to due process and the presumption of innocence. These values are at the core of our criminal defence service.

If you have been detained for questioning on suspicion of having committed a crime, obtaining legal advice at the earliest possible moment is essential and could be crucial if you are ultimately prosecuted. As part of our criminal defence service, we provide advice to clients who are detained in Garda custody. We are available after hours and at weekends to attend at any nearby Garda stations.

At McIntyre O'Brien Solicitors, we are members of the Criminal Legal Aid panel, meaning that if your circumstances allow, we can provide you with free legal aid.

We provide our criminal defence service in respect of all offences, from the most minor to the most serious offences under Irish Law. We provide advice and representation in relation to all court jurisdictions including the District Court, the Circuit Criminal Court, the Central Criminal Court and the Special Criminal Court. The most common areas of criminal law that we provide advice and representation are in the following:

Road Traffic

Our legal advice regarding road traffic offences relates to drink driving charges, dangerous driving, careless driving, fixed penalty point offences and all other road traffic matters.

Public Order

We provide advice and representation in respect of all public order offences including intoxicated in a public place, disorderly conduct in a public place, threatening or abusive language, failure to comply with direction of a member of Garda Siochana and other related public order offences.

Theft and Burglary

Our legal advice relates to any theft, either stemming from something as small as a shoplifting charge to more serious theft related offences, including burglary or robbery.

We provide legal advice and representation for any individual charged with any degree of assault, either it be simple assault, assault causing harm or assault causing serious harm.

We provide legal advice and representation for those charged with drug related offences, either being possession of a minor drug for personal use to more serious charges such as possession with intent to distribute.

If you require any legal advice on any of the above or any other criminal charge, then please contact us at 074 9725105.
