This project was planned and involved the hard-work and committment of serveral people and groups over many years and had reached an advanced stage prior to the arrival of the Regeneration Project.

The Regeneration Agencies helped to get the project “over the line“ and has contributed a sum of €350,000 to offset the funding dificit on the capital cost of €1.3million. Most of the funding has come from the Department of Children and Youth affairs (EU childcare investment programme) and administred through POBAL.

A further key funding contribution came from the JP McManus Trust. The HSE West has also contributed significatly to this very valuable project.

The whole area of childcare, child protection and welfare is a crucial element of the Social pillar of the LImerick Regeneration Masterplan.

He met the Boards of Limerick Regeneration and the Community Consultative Forum which consists of residents from each of the five Regeneration neighbourhoods, Moyross, St. Marys Park, Ballinacurra Weston, O’Malley/Keyes Park and Carew/Kincora Park.
