Please check the sauna regularly once a week for possible damage and repair it immediately. For example, loosened screws must be tightened immediately. Lime or water spots on the sauna heater are removed most effectively with a brush. After cleaning, the sauna must be aired.

In commercial facilities, the interior covering should be renewed after approx. 5 – 7 years.
When cleaning public saunas, the following regulations are to be observed:

Cleaning the floor:
Clean the floor daily. Special care must be taken around the bench feet. The floor must be scrubbed if required.

Caution! The wood in the sauna cabin is extremely dry and thus very sensitive to moisture. The timber lining of the sauna cabin as well as the recliners and benches must therefore never be sprayed down with a water hose or high pressure cleaner. This also applies to cleaning the floor inside the sauna cabin. Also exterior coverings must not be cleaned with a high pressure cleaner or water hose.

If a high pressure cleaner or running water is used, the guarantee for the complete sauna expires.

Special cleaning advantages are offered by the easy-care Klafs sauna PROFI appointments.
This model has the following basic advantages:
a) The walls in the PROFI sauna are covered up to a height of 40 cm with waterproof boards. Therefore the floor of the easy-care PROFI sauna can be sprayed down (Don’t use a high pressure cleaner.). It must be ensured however that the timber lining and the recliners do not get wet. Otherwise, the wood will crack.
b) The floor in the entire area of the PROFI sauna can be easily accessed or walked on when the recliners and benches are folded up or removed.
When the sauna cabins are fitted with a conventional dressed timber substructure of the recliners and benches, the floor must be wiped thoroughly (with a damp cloth), particularly around the bench feet. The floor in these systems must also not be sprayed down, otherwise the wood could possibly get wet and crack. In this case, the guarantee for the sauna cabin shall expire.

When required, a hydrogen peroxide solution can also be used for the recliner laths.
The screw connections of the metal feet in the recliner furniture Profi Plus must be re-tightened after approx. 6 months.

Sitting and reclining areas:
Sand off the surface of the laths of the recliners and benches with sandpaper or a grinder once or twice a year, more often when the sauna is used very intensively. Dust masks or an exhausting device should be used when carrying out this work. The sitting and reclining areas can be cleaned regularly with disinfectants. The use of 3 % hydrogen peroxide (Perhydrol,H 0) is recommended for this.
Caution!
Disinfectants are extremely caustic, therefore the applicable safety regulations must be observed! Toxic residual products are not left with hydrogen peroxide, when it comes into contact with organic material it decomposes into oxygen and water.

Wall covering:
The cabin outer walls should be protected (impregnated) against moisture. The sauna inner lining, together with the interior appointments (recliners etc.) must not be impregnated or painted. The wooden surfaces of walls and ceilings must be cleaned once or twice a year, more often when the sauna is used very intensively, by wiping these surfaces with a damp, well wrung out cloth (not wet, no hose, no high pressure cleaner).

Plastic grate:
The plastic grate which is laid out on the passable surfaces of the sauna cabin must be cleaned daily by scrubbing it with disinfectant outside the sauna. After cleaning the sauna should be aired thoroughly.

Door handles:
Re-tighten screw connections regularly.

Hinge plates:
The hinge plates must be lubricated regularly.

Door latch bolt:
Oil regularly and readjust when required.

General tips
We recommend:
• Putting up one or more sauna bathing rule signs with bathing instructions for the sauna guests in plain sight at or near the sauna.
• Putting up one or more signs "Bathing rules for public sauna baths" in the sauna area (Source of supply: German Sauna Association).

We wish you and your guests many hours of enjoyment and relaxation in the Klafs system.
