Our marble restoration technique is a multiple step process. We would normally need to begin by grinding the floor thus removing the scratches using special diamond resin pads. The surface must then be honed using a finer pad giving a smoother finish. After rinsing, the floor is then ready to be shined, polished and sealed resulting in a perfect long lasting finish. Because the process is wet there is little if any dust created.

This is the only way to properly restore marble tiles. Other companies will use acrylic sealers and wax finishes to achieve a quick fix solution. These finishes are inferior and are merely masking the problems underneath, a little like painting over rust. The finish will probably not last more than 6 months and the floor could even look worse.

Once a floor has been professionally restored it will require some form of penetrative seal. The options would be to use either a water or solvent based product.

The water based has a much quicker application and curing time and is more suited to areas of low traffic

The solvent based sealer penetrates much deeper into the stone, has a much longer curing time and releases strong fumes. It is an ideal product for areas of heavy traffic but can be quite expensive.
