A Website Evaluation is a very cost-effective service for business owners to get an independent expert review of their website or system. The audit involves a ‘walkthrough’ of the website or online system. An expert reviewer visits your website or system and spend one or two hours using the system as a typical user performing the typical tasks your users perform.

Aspects of your website reviewed:

  • Branding - is the website projecting the correct image for the business? Does it pass the test of appearing professional and credible?
  • Functionality - does the website provide the functionality users will typically expect?
  • Usability - does the website behave as users expect? Are there any usability issues that may prevent users successfully completing actions e.g. ordering, booking, locating information etc?
  • Navigation - does the site enables users to easily find the content they require e.g. is information grouped in a logical way for users, is there a search facility or sitemap?

I also have a checklist specifically for evaluating E-Commerce Systems using the key findings from the E-Commerce User Experience report compiled by the Nielsen Norman Group.

The majority of issues identified in a Website Evaluation are easily corrected and can make significant difference to the success of your website. It is a very affordable service as the only fee is for the evaluator’s time to perform the walkthrough and report back to you.
