Bach Flower Remedies pronounced Batch were discovered by Dr. Edward Bach who had practised for over 20 years as a Harley Street consultant, bacteriologist and homoeopath. The late Edward Bach, gave up his lucrative practice in 1930 to devote his full time to seek energies in the plant world which would restore vitality to the sick, so that the sufferer would be able to overcome his worry, his apprehensions, etc and to assist in his own healing.
Dr. Bach discovered 38 remedies to cover all known negative states of mind from which mankind can suffer, categorizing them in 7 headings.
- For apprehension
- For uncertainty and indecision
- For loneliness
- For insufficient interest in present circumtances
- For over-sensitiveness to ideas and influence
- For despondency and despair
- For over-care for the welfare of others
The remedies can be taken by people of all ages. There is no danger of an over-dose or side effects. They are not harmful or habit-forming. They will not be influenced by, nor will they effect any form of medicine prescribed to a person.
Dr. Bach once gave a simple Instruction to his team: 'treat the person, not the disease'. This is the holistic approach in a nutshell.
