It has come to our attention that a review of the case notes of children with epilepsy will take place at the Royal Surrey County Hospital. This is in response to concerns raised about the medical practice of a consultant paediatrician with an interest in epilepsy and neurology, at the hospital.
This is understandably a very worrying time for the parents and children involved and it is hoped the hospital will carry out a full and thorough review and inform the families of the outcome as quickly as possible.
The Royal Surrey County Hospital has set up a telephone helpline for members of the public who are concerned, 01483 408 379. There is also information available on the hospital's website at www.royalsurrey.nhs.uk/review
People should not stop taking their medication without consulting a doctor.
