It has come to our attention that a review of the case notes of children with epilepsy will take place at the Royal Surrey County Hospital. This is in response to concerns raised about the medical practice of a consultant paediatrician with an interest in epilepsy and neurology, at the hospital.

This is understandably a very worrying time for the parents and children involved and it is hoped the hospital will carry out a full and thorough review and inform the families of the outcome as quickly as possible.

The Royal Surrey County Hospital has set up a telephone helpline for members of the public who are concerned, 01483 408 379. There is also information available on the hospital's website at

People should not stop taking their medication without consulting a doctor.
