IFCS - Emergency Kits

By: Irish Flood Control Systems  05/12/2011

Emergency Kits have no permanent fittings, are compact and cost-effective.

IFCS has developed a comprehensive Emergency Kit which addresses the need for a "whole house" solution in the most cost effective manner possible.

IFCS Emergency Kit includes:

  • Perimeter sealant to improve the seal between your doorframe and the wall.
  • WallShield preparation to increase the water resistance of porous brickwork or concrete, with brush
  • Specialist, easy-to-use gun for applying sealant and gel from environmentally friendly foil packs, with 3 nozzles.
  • Door barrier and Emergency Gel
  • 4 air-brick covers
  • FloodWrap for extra security on doors and windows

Emergency Kits can be upgraded with: additional, or bespoke door barriers; standalone Ventguards; greater quantities of WallShield, perimeter sealant and Emergency Gel.

The IFCS Emergency Kit is:

  • Easy to use
  • Easy to clear-up once flooding has receded
  • Economical
  • More effective than sandbags
  • Compact to store
  • Environmentally friendly, using low-waste foil packs rather than traditional, slow to degrade plastic tubes.
  • Able to applied in already wet conditions
  • Ideal for councils and home owners

IFCS - Surveys

We will liaise with local authorities and planners where necessary to propose a workable, effective solution. We consider historical data, flood risk, points of ingress, ergonomic needs and innovative approaches. A comprehensive survey by IFCS professionals is the best way to assess your flood defence needs.

IFCS - Alternatives to sandbags

Absorbeez water absorbent materials are new and combine advanced technology with experience, to produce high capacity water absorbent bags and sheets that are super handy. Simply unscrew the FloodWater Bag nozzle and drain the polymer-activated water onto the ground, where it will dissipate in a matter of days. The nature of their expansion means FloodBags pack tightly against one another to form a flood wall.

IFCS - Alarm and Response

An example of a recent installation included a robust remote sensor, outstation and communications package contained on the site of the sensor, connected to a PSTN line. A solar panel was mounted above harm’s way, ensuring against battery failure at the most important time. IFCS - On-site surveys

For a community group, IFCS can advise on larger scale projects which can protect groups of houses and larger areas against flooding. The fee for an IFCS survey, which includes a comprehensive report, is dependent upon the scale and location of your property. These include community alarm systems, permanent works and demountable flood defences. Any preparatory work required to improve the imperviousness of walls.
