They have a wide range of applications in production metrology, in multipoint inspection stations, measuring equipment monitoring, and as position measuring devices

W= Dust & Splashproof Heidenhain Incremental Length Gages play a role in incoming inspection, production, SPC, quality assurance; anywhere fast, reliable and accurate length measurement is needed. Their large measuring lengths are a particular advantage, with ranges available up to 4" (100mm). Certo length gages are especially well suited to tasks such as gage-block inspection & calibration, small-diameter Specto length gages are typically used in multi-point inspection and position measurement. The similarly compact Metro length gages are for higher accuracy applications. Heidenhain - Certo digital length gages offer an accuracy up to +/- .000001" (.00003mm) Heidenhain - Metro digital length gages have accuracy grades as fine as +/- .000008" (.0002mm) Heidenhain - Specto digital length gages feature accuracy of +/- .000040" (.001mm)
