Building Infrastructure and Site Development
We have successfully delivered a number of large multimillion-euro mixed-use schemes, as we are able to successfully draw together a wide range of highly skilled and complimentary services that are necessary for each stage of the development process. We can be provide a coordinated ‘one stop shop’ approach or individually, depending on our client’s needs and preferences. We have demonstrated our capability in this area by providing best practice and the most up-to-date advice whether it is in environmental and renewable energy, transport related matters or building design and construction.
The last few years have seen an increasing number of large mixed-use schemes being developed, combining residential with commercial or retail uses, often in city centre locations and greenfield locations. Combining different uses, spatial requirements and differing energy and servicing needs can produce complex developments hence, with early involvement, we can assist the stakeholders with optimum design arrangement while addressing constructability issues. We have developed services and cost effective initiatives to meet specific needs in planning, architectural, structures, storm and wastewater drainage design, roads, 3-D modelling and construction services.
Resdential, Offices & Commercial
We work with property developers creating space to be let on the open office rental market, corporate clients developing space for their own occupation and with institutional property investment funds. Current trends in the market include a tendency towards mixed-use schemes and many of the office developments we work on include elements of residential and retail use. We have formed strong bonds with developers, architects, institutional property investment funds, project managers, property agents, planners and freeholders.
We focus our delivery on the needs of the client recognising that the aims and objectives of every project are different. We listen to our clients’ needs and tailor our service to what is actually required rather than produce a standard set of repeated deliverables. We evaluate all available options for feasibility and efficiency in any given situation to ensure the solutions we deliver are already optimised to maximise benefit to the client.
As a multi-discplinary group, our value is contained in the talent and knowledge of our staff. We recruit both at graduate level from leading universities and at chartered engineer level with to maintain a varied knowledge and skills base that is broad and deep.
The Retail sector is a key area in the property market in which we actively works. We aim to provide innovative solutions in designs and construction. Our group endeavours to concentrate these solutions across the client base and to provide experience and strategic advice to other sectors, such as commercial and mixed-use.
The retail operators are some of the most advanced and sophisticated of the building owners and occupiers and see the need for investment in areas such as sustainability and energy efficiency. We work with the industry leaders in developing advanced designs in refrigeration and renewable energy solutions, beyond the current government requirements. Close working partnerships are developed to provide long-term design solutions capable of being upgraded and expanded as developments are constructed.
We understands the need to make the retail shell units as flexible and adaptable as possible; with a design life as short as five years many retail units will be developed many times within the life of the building, and be re-modelled and updated each time. The need to cater for any number of design options and parameters is vitally important; from retail, independent and multiple, restaurant or leisure, schemes must be adaptable in their structure and building services.
Sports and Leisure
Sports and Leisure is an ever expanding sector, covering a wide variety of projects, ranging from swimming pools, leisure centre and entertainment venues, museums, hotels and leisure-plex. In order to meet the complex needs of such developments we are able to call upon a number of specialists within our joint venture and corporate alliance initiatives. We are continually looking for new opportunities within this sector, both in the UK and overseas.
We have expertise in designing a wide range of swimming pool and leisure facilities, from large local authority pools, to health clubs and private houses. We understand the importance of not only meeting the needs of the client, but also those of the end users of these types of facilities and work hard to create environments which are practical, profitable and pleasurable to be in.
Mechanical and Electrical services
Mechanical and Electrical services can account for a significant proportion of the cost of construction of modern buildings. From lifts and escalators, to air-conditioning and controls, to lighting & communications, the provision of building services has become increasingly complex and challenging. The Groups Building Services seek to satisfy client needs through the development of
- creative design solutions
- an integrated approach to services co-ordination
- professional management of procurement, installation and commissioning systems and building simulation technology
The Building Services provide a design service that makes a real difference to everyone living and working in the built environment, today. Our design expertise covers a wide variety of projects ranging from office and commercial buildings, through to theatres and including specialised fields such as museums and art galleries.
We recognise the client's need to achieve "Value For Money", Statutory and Health & Safety Compliance and most importantly, a facility which continues to operate in a safe, reliable, and cost efficient manner. Our advice can be strategic, financial or practical, but in all cases, we work together with our Clients and partners to provide solutions for properly operated buildings at reduced operational costs. Legal requirements, energy costs, prolonging asset life, budget adherence, and "service assurance" each impact on how the Client's facilities manager operates.
