Ilse de Ziah – Irish Airs for Solo Cello Book and CD

Keywords: Cellists

This book is a tool to help you unlock the beauty of Irish airs as played on the cello. It is also excellent for technical development. Techniques employed include the use of left hand pizzicato, false harmonics, octaves and double stops. The various techniques used in these arrangements ensure that the melody is supported by an accompaniment despite it being  performed on one instrument.

All the airs are arranged by Ilse de Ziah. Eight of the ten airs in this book are traditional and written by unknown composers. Some of the airs have lyrics which were often added in more recent times and are included in the book.
