Lisa Hannigan's new album, Passenger, which is earning great reviews across the United States and the UK has entered the Irish charts at number 1. Congratulations to Lisa and her awesome team! Here is the video for "Knots", the first single to be taken from the album:

Last Saturday night Lisa Hannigan performed "Blue Moon" on Irish TV with Cathy Davey (see the video below). Both are amongst the performers at the upcoming Turning Pirate Mixed Tape New Year's Eve Party in Vicar Street, Dublin. Other performers include: Rhob Cunningham, Neil Hannon, Jerry Fish, David O'Doherty, Gavin Glass, Richie Egan, The Ambience Affair, Tucan, Laser Tom and the Blast Crew. Hope to see you there!

Earlier this year we told you about Gasoline Rainbows, a benefit album in support of people affected by the Gulf of Mexico oil spill. The album features a brand new Damien Rice song “The Connisseur of Great Excuse”. Ten years ago we lost a great Irish singer-songwriter named Mic Christopher. Here's an unreleased track that Mic performed with his friend Glen Hansard. He was a great guy and an amazing performer.

The new track is called "The Connoisseur of Great Excuse" and will be available as a digital download from November 30th. I'm sure there'll be many more video clips in the days ahead, but here's the first as a special Christmas treat. I went to Woodstock to record the album and I was unhappy with what happened there," she recalled. The tracks will appear on Melanie's forthcoming album, released on 5 May. "It's a crazy story.
