SERVICE
Promotability are proud of the fact that our lifts are the best you can buy. But like all mechanical equipment, routine maintenance is routine servicing is required. Did you know that there is a legal requirement to inspect and service your lift regularly.Ricon products are to be installed and maintained by qualified service professionals. To help you, Promotability Ltd. has invested heavily in training for all of our recognised fitters, so that you can have access to an engineer or mobile service if you require service or repair.If you require service, inspection or repairs to your Ricon product please contact our offices for details of your closest outlet.

Parts

Our parts back-up is excellent. With all necessary service replacement parts available from our stock atour premises or chosen service dealers.We will endeavour to dispatch replacement or service parts without delay and normally same or next day.It is best practice to ask that you contact your nearest service dealer to supply and fit any replacements,as this will form part of your service records.

Warranty
For your peace of mind, warranty cover on Ricon products extends to 1 year from date of first use.To avail of your warranty it is important to make sure your completed warranty card is sent back to us atour address and that your lift has a verifiable service record at a recognised service outlet.Report any problems as soon as you are aware of them and if you have a query about any Ricon product inregard to its operation, safety, or service and maintenance call us at our offices without delay.

  • We will put you in touch with a trained service outlet near you to maintain, service, or repair your lift.
  • You may also avail of our own service department at our workshop at the following address, Promotability Ltd.
    Unit A3, Airside Enterprise Centre, Airside Business Park, Swords, Co. Dublin.
  • Please quote the serial number and type of Ricon lift, located on the outside of the main pillar to the right hand side, or on the left hand hydraulic ram (see picture below).
  • Please state where and when your lift was installed or purchased.
  • Keep a good record of work done with dates and copy invoices where applicable.

Service Intervals
Your lift is classed as a lifting device and there are regulations governing it’s use and service.
LOLER
regulations dictate that your lifting device is ‘serviced’ twice per year and that it receives ‘weight test certification’ once per year.
These examinations, service and tests should only be completed by competent persons, trained specifically in these products.Elements of a recommended Safety Assurance Package
  1. Pre-Delivery Inspection
Should include a check that Thorough Examination by your installer is valid and delivered with the equipment.
  1. Weight Test Certification
The installer of a lifting device is required to provide an initial ‘Weight Test Certificate’ on completion of installation. There are recommended procedures which must be followed to complete certification.The Weight Test Certificate must be provided to the owner of the equipment on delivery.
  1. User Instruction
An appropriate User Instruction Manual should be delivered with the equipment, it is important that operators read and understand it’s contents and are fully versed with the use of the equipment.The installer should provide a demonstration and instruction in the use of the equipment prior to dispatching an equipped vehicle from their premises.
  1. Pre Use inspections by the operator
Regular pre use inspections should be carried out by the operator.These inspections should ensure that defects are reported and rectified.
  1. Regular Maintenance
Regulation requires that your lifting device is examined and serviced on a regular basis.Your lift should be serviced at 6 monthly intervals, by a competent person.This should include inspection, reporting and rectification of defects.Service inspections should include an examination of both Mechanical and Electrical Installation, a thorough Operational check, and rectification of any defect. Written reports confirming examination and or service and or repairs should be provided to the owner for their information and records.
  1. Planned inspection by a Competent Person
In addition to regular servicing and inspection the owner must ensure to renew the ‘Weight Test Certification’ applicable to their lifting device on a 12 monthly basis.
  1. Severe Use Environments
Where there is a severe use or abuse environment additional inspections and services are recommended between normal service intervals. This can apply to personal use and is normal with organisational use where the amount of lift cycles are significant. Find your Serial Number (s.n.)
