Karuna Mindfulness offers Mindfulness Meditation courses and Mindful Self-Compassion Courses in Dublin.
Mindfulness has been described by Jon Kabat-Zinn as "paying attention in a particular way, on purpose, in the present moment and non-judgementally". The course has been developed by combining the ancient art of mindfulness with over 30 years of clinical research into it's effectiveness.
Why would a person want to learn mindfulness ? ~ It is a fact that all of us suffer in some way or another, that's life isn't it. How we handle and manage this stress is another matter. We can get caught up and be swamped by the sometimes harsh realities of life, but instead of being overwhelmed we can learn to be mindful and allow ourselves to stay in touch with our innate wisdom and love, with self-compassion and kindness in the present moment. This is a simple and yet profound practice that is often counter intuitive, we have learned to "do" things the opposite way to being mindful and this causes much grief and suffering.
Louis has been teaching mindfulness for over 15 years and has been running 8 week MBSR mindfulness courses for the past five years.
