    • Meditation Evening Classes. Relax, Breath and Unwind in a very special way. These Classes are designed to restore balance to the mind and body. You will learn how to tap into, your vast internal resources. Through Hypno-mediations, self hypnosis, progressive relaxation, mindfulness, transcendental meditation and so much more. Together they become a natural powerful tool, beneficial to one’s health, enabling benevolent and sustainable changes. A profound state of rest: much deeper than ordinary relaxation, even deeper than sleep. Inner happiness: clearly measurable through increase of happiness hormones. Holistic brain development: measurable through EEG brain wave coherence measurements. It is extremely important to reduce the stress we carry in our lives and when practiced regularly contemplation, mindfulness, meditation, relaxation have many benefits for combating STRESS in our lives. Meditation is one of the quickest and simplest ways to create a relaxation response in the body-mind. If we ignore that inner voice that tells us to slow down or take a break, at some point our health will begin to suffer, at the very least our ability to withstand stress or the pressures of daily life will weaken us, reduce our immune response and keep us in an anxious state. The Classes involve learning to become more aware of our bodily sensations as well as our thoughts and feelings by focusing our full attention on them moment to moment, observing watching …allowing them to pass by without judgment. We call this witnessing. (A process of observing oneself from outside) When the mind is relaxed, it is better equipped and more effectively able to organize and manage thought processes, making decisions easier and ultimately enhancing the general feeling of wellbeing which in turn strengthens the mind. Classes run on Thursday evenings at 8pm-9pm and run for 6 weeks Please bring a blanket pillow and yoga mat along with you. • Starts 12:00 PM
Yin Yoga is a complementary yoga practice to the more dynamic and invigorating yoga styles that are predominant today. In Yin Yoga, floor postures are held passively for several minutes in order to access a safe and positive ‘stress’ on the deep layers of connective tissue in the body. Physically, Yin Yoga restores and maintains the natural mobility of the joints, primarily between the navel and the knees. Energetically, Yin Yoga opens the body’s meridian system, which enhances the body’s energetic flow and supports emotional balance. And as this practice emphasizes stillness and silence, Yin Yoga prepares both the body and the mind for deeper experiences in meditation. Tuesday Evenings 8.00pm to 9.00pm 4 Week Terms. • Try this: While you are sitting there, focus your attention on your breath. Observe it, feel it move in and move out. Bring your attention to your belly. Observe it, feel it move in and out with the breath. The breath and the body moving together like two dancers. Keep watching. Keep feeling. If your mind wanders, don’t worry. Don’t judge. Just bring your attention back to the breath. This is mindfulness. Children understand mindfulness. Children embrace mindfulness. They want to feel calm and learn how to help themselves feel calm. They may not have the tools to help themselves self calm, self regulate or self soothe. Mindfulness gives the children ways to do this in a fun manner that makes sense to them. Another tool in the all important toolkit for life. Mindfulness for children starts on the 28th September at 4.15 in River Holistic Centre, Raheny. The treatment was developed to address current day concerns to look youthful and healthy without invasive interventions. Just as regular visits to the gym can keep you looking fit and toned, regular face massages can lift and tone facial muscles, soften features and keep you looking radiant and healthy with renewed blood and oxygen supply to the face. Kneading facial muscles brings nutrients to the treated area, helping the collagen and elastin fibres retain their elasticity, while stimulating marma points can help release energy blockages. While nothing can permanently halt the ageing process, we can lessen the appearance of damage to our skins through massage, a more positive lifestyle and outlook and avoiding excessive exposure to the sun and harmful chemicals. This amazing face massage can be used on its own or can easily be integrated into a full body massage routine or combined with any other treatment. What are the pre-requisites to training, how long does it take and what qualification will I receive? This 2-day CPD course is for qualified therapists (massage, reflexology, beauty therapy etc). You will receive a CMA approved certificate from the London Centre of Indian Champissage International (LCICI www.champissageinternational.com) The course covers theory and practice and you will give and receive the treatment on the day. • When? March 17th to 20th 2017 (10.00am – 6.00pm) Where? River Holistic Centre, 10 Main Street, Raheny, Dublin 5 What is Facial Rejuvenation? Facial Rejuvenation or Natural face lift massage as it is also called, is a holistic and non-invasive approach to looking younger. Although ageing is inevitable, this treatment can help reduce visible signs of ageing and improve skin tone by means of simple, natural and effective massage techniques and energy balancing. It combines ancient theory with a practical, modern approach to looking and feeling your best, whatever your age. Its origins lie in Ayurveda, an ancient Indian healing system, over four thousand years old. Ayurveda literally translates as ‘the science of life’ and focuses on the health of the individual at all levels – physical, emotional and spiritual. As well as balancing the body, Ayurveda places great emphasis on massage as being essential to health and beauty. A unique aspect of this treatment is that it does not involve the use of any oils, creams or equipment, making it an ideal treatment for anyone suffering from allergies to products. How does it work and what is involved in a typical treatment? Tension can very easily build up in our facial muscles without us realising it. Over a period of time, habitual thoughts and emotions lock themselves into expressions on our faces – particularly around the eyes and mouth. This can be exacerbated by additional factors such as excessive exposure to the sun, pollution, alcohol, poor diet, lack of sleep, the effects of gravity and every day stresses and strains. The facial muscles can actually “dry up” and contract, inhibiting freedom of expression, encouraging ageing and the formation of wrinkles as the face loses its muscle tone and elasticity and begins to sag. A typical Facial Rejuvenation treatment takes one hour and involves a consultation to determine if any contraindication are present as well as any factors that may be affecting the client’s skin and what they wish to achieve from the treatments e.g. to lift the eye area, tone the jaw line etc. The therapist can then pay extra attention to these areas during treatment.
