The Bujinkan Shugyō Dōjō in Dundrum offers classes in the classical Japanese martial arts in Dublin. Our goal is to appreciate and preserve traditions devised for military and self defence applications in pre-modern Japan while keeping true to its roots in pragmatic application in the present age and via correct transmission. The Dōjō is part of the international Bujinkan Dōjō of Soke Masaaki Hatsumi and the martial art taught is known as Bujinkan Budō Taijutsu. Our goal is to provide the absolute best quality of instruction possible, with classes structured in a logical and consistent pattern to ensure each student achieves their potential. We emphasize the correct study of fundamentals, weapons and schools and follow a syllabus designed to ensure a proper grounding so that students can successfully engage with advanced material. Additionally we also have a particular focus on Japanese language, military history and culture. Membership of the Dojo is open to all suitable candidates willing to uphold the rules of the Bujinkan Dōjō, work diligently and enjoy their training to the fullest. Members of other Bujinkan Dōjō are very welcome to attend training, but please send me advance notice with a quick email beforehand. We are located in Taney Parish Centre, Dundrum, and our classes run from 7pm-10pm on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. Additional classes are held from time to time and on request.
