Ok, so a Food Writer is pretty self explanatory but I should explain the meaning of, and the difference between a Food Stylist and Home Economist.
As a Food Stylist (sounds very glamorous, it is a bit, but not much) I style food for photography and film for books, magazines, advertising, packaging and commercials. The food, like peas for example, need careful tweaking and glossing to make them look beautiful like super-models.
Then as a (not so glamorous sounding) Home Economist I develop, test and write recipes; that means lots of eating too of course, yum yum. I also organise and prepare lots of equipment and food for cookery programmes and demonstrations. Otherwise known as the ‘here’s one I prepared earlier’ girl.
