Sea and Shore personnel have received training in how to test, service and certify your lifejacket.
Lifejackets sent to us will now be checked, cleaned and tested at our office and then returned to you within a few days, saving you time as well as the cost of shipping them abroad. A test certificate will be issued on all fully serviced lifejackets.
All lifejackets will have their service record updated to indicate both the actual service date and also the NEXT service date. This is important so that all jackets in use and fully serviced by competent service agents before the expiry date of the certificate.
We regret that whereas we are prepared to check and clean jackets with a hydro static operating mechanism we cannot service them. We can however, sent these to our service partner so that they too can by correctly serviced to maintain them in a fully operational condition at all times.
Remember that you should carry out regular checks on your lifejacket at least every 3 months. Inflate the jacket orally and see that it stays fully inflated for at least 4 hours. Check the operating system so that you can be sure it will work when you need it. If you dont feel competent to do this contact your supplier and they will be happy to help you. You should feel confident when you check the bobbin/cartridge and Co2 bottle, then be able to re-assemble after checking webbing, buckle, light and whistle. In this way you will be happy that your lifejackets with perform as expected in case of emergengy.
Sea and Shore carry out on site inspections of lifejackets and other life saving appliances for some of our clients. Please contact us if you feel that this service would be useful to your organisation.
