  1. We carry out a Provisional Building Energy Rating on your dwelling by assessing your Architects Drawings and Specifications.
  2. We follow a standardised procedure using an approved survey and calculation methodology to generate the rating.
  3. The Provisional Building Energy Rating certificate and advisory report can then be compiled and issued to you the client to enable you to make the necessary changes to your house design to improve your rating and thus lowering your future energy costs prior to construction.
  4. The Provisional Building Energy Rating has a validation period of two years to enable you to construct your dwelling.
  5. On completion of the dwelling a final Building Energy Rating will be required prior to the first occupancy of the dwelling and will be valid for ten ears.

If you offer for sale or rent an existing property after the 1st January 2009 then you will be required to have a Building Energy Rating (BER) carried out.

  1. We normally survey the dwelling to record, for example, the size of the dwelling, the construction, the insulation levels, the types of windows, the ventilation features, details of the heating and hot water systems, etc.
  2. This information will then be used to generate the BER which represents the energy performance of the dwelling.
  3. We follow a standardised procedure using an approved survey and calculation methodology to generate the rating.
  4. A BER of an existing dwelling being offered for sale or letting on or after 1st January 2009 must be carried out by a registered BER assessor, at the expense of the owner - who must provide the resulting BER certificate and advisory report to prospective buyers/tenants.
