Statistics show that new drivers are more likely to have an accident within their first 2 years of driving than at any other time in their driving career.

After the test is an advanced driving course designed to help develop the skills and knowledge of newly qualified drivers, broaden their experience and reduce their risk of being in an accident.

The course consists of a six module training syllabus similar to DSA’s Pass Plus Scheme. Modules differ in time to cover, but the course is based on a minimum of six hours training, of which 30 mins is theory and notes are provided. The practical in car session is videoed for later reference by the student.

The course lasts 10 – 12 hours dependent on road conditions.

Module 4: Night Driving

  • Visibility – Seeing & Reacting Safely

Module 5: Dual Carriageways

  • Joining/Turning/Leaving
  • Forward Planning & Observation
  • Overtaking

Module 6: Motorways M50, including Port Tunnel and M1 Dublin/Newry

45 Per Hour Deal | Dragon School of Motoring

The minimum required lessons for an experienced driver are 10 hours prepaid lessons and 15 prepaid hours for a novice/beginner. If you fail the test you are are refunded your test fee or you are given 4 hours of free driving lessons.
