The Wicklow Way begins in Dublin’s southern suburb of Rathfarnham and travels in a south-south-westerly direction across the Dublin and Wicklow uplands, then through the rolling hill country of southwest County Wicklow to finish.. Most of the lake is surrounded by private lands, and so out of bounds, though the northwest corner is part of the Wicklow National Park, and there are ample viewing points around the lake to feast on its beauty.
