EnBIO is initially focusing on three product offerings. These are all based on EnBIO's novel patent pending surface modification technology known as CoBlast™. The latter two product offerings (Antimicrobial and Drug Delivery) are an extension of the first product as they use the Hydroxyapatite (HA) as the carrier to place the active agents on the surface.

EnBIO: CoBlast™ - Osteoconductive Surface Technology

EnBIO's in-vivo (animal trials) and in-vitro experiments completed to-date and the data from them confirm that an OsteoZip™ surface has better bone fixation than any other osteoconductive surface. This technology will also be of interest to dental implant manufacturers where there is less adoption of HA coating and more traditionally a focus on the use of roughening technologies.

OsteoZapTM is designed to prevent infection and biofilm formation on orthopaedic implants such as hips and knees, trauma devices, and spinal and dental implants by combining long-term infection prevention and anti-colonization functionality with the osteointegration benefits of EnBIO’s OsteoZip surfaces. OsteoZap is an apatitic/bioceramic surface optimized to be antimicrobial.


EnBIO: CoBlast™ - Drug Delivery Surface

The drug cannot elute at concentrations less than the Minimum Effective Concentration in the case of antibiotics. Few hours (e.g. as a burst of antibiotics for infection control in the immediate time after the surgery. EnBIO's third offering is a drug eluting surface for metallic medical implants.
