The Role

Title: Group Management Accountant
Location: Middle East

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the appointed candidate will be responsible for the design, implementation and management of an integrated management information system for a newly created group which consists of three well-established manufacturing companies and which is in the process of seeking a stock market listing. The system will cover all aspects of planning, budgeting and forecasting as well as performance monitoring and variance analysis and will lead in the near future to the standardisation and upgrade of existing ERP systems.

 Key responsibilities include:

  • Consolidation and efficient management of all financial and administrative activity reports consistent with the demands of the business  
  • Assist in business planning and in the preparation and implementation of financial reports, policies, processes and guidelines
  • Further develop and implement meaningful management information systems reports across a range of department functions such as planning, procurement, operations, processing, sales and marketing
  • Compilation of quarterly forecasts, annual budgets and other long range plans as required
  • Development and completion of financial models and sensitivity analyses to support business needs
  • Drive change and implement continuous improvement principles to enhance service delivery of the finance function within the business  
  • Establishing and maintaining acceptable internal control, standardisation, and governance / reporting compliance for the business
  • Lead the analysis and management of planning needs, product costing, work allocation processes and develop financial systems to support them

The Candidate

The successful candidate will have a recognised professional accounting qualification (CIMA or ACA, ACCA) with a minimum 5 years post qualification experience at financial controller/manager level in a commercial / manufacturing environment and will demonstrate abilities and competence in all activities related to the role, including:

  • Well developed organisational, analytical and systems experience
  • Proven ability to identify and satisfy business information needs, preferably in an industrial /manufacturing environment
  • Experience in cost modelling / estimations, risk compliance, organisation management
  • Project Management capabilities including the ability to plan, initiate, monitor and implement relevant activities to support the business
  • The ability to lead, motivate and challenge people and processes
  • Proven experience in managing work load to strict reporting deadlines
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills and an eye for detail
  • Ability to present and explain, financial information and concepts both verbally and in written communication, to a wide range of business users,
  • Demonstrate an energetic, self motivated and flexible pro active approach in all matters
  • Experience of working in a multi-cultural environment, preferably in the Middle East would be advantageous but not essential
