Job Title: Project Manager Plastics Engineer

Job Location: Middle East

Industry: Dairy/Juice/FMCG

Purpose of Position:
Ensures that product of acceptable quality is produced on time at minimal cost.

Ensures that manufacturing and processing improvements through either changes in production methods, machinery and labour utilization are implemented.

Ensures healthy Communication with Suppliers to implement the above

Key Result Areas:
Product Quality, Machine Performance, Cost and Productivity.

Principal Duties:
Determines plant policies for manufacturing, maintenance, housekeeping, staff utilization and production; Directs and supervises the application of these policies at the factory.

Prepares production plan. Coordinates the execution of production schedules based on sales requirements and plant capacity.

Determines all manufacturing standards and confers with department heads on the application of methods and production standards, and adheres to safety, hygiene, quality and security standards.

Develops operational systems to assist control quality, cost of production and raw materials inventory.

Develops and approves new preforms based on management strategy.

Handle and maintain in good working condition all the plant infrastructure i.e. M/C , molds, dryes, AHU, HVAC, compressors.

Orders all spare parts and manage the spare part store

Oversees the maintenance of buildings and equipment and plant security and protection. Participates in long-range planning expansion, conversion and equipment planning

Reviews and approves recommendations of subordinate supervisors in personnel matters in accordance with company Policy.

Prepares an annual budget expenditure plan for the 4 departments (Production, Q.C, Process/tooling & Maintenance) review with management

Receives daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly reports identifying various aspects of production and operational efficiency, stock in hand, maintenance undertaken and staff cost. Convenes production and related site meetings and prepares detailed operating reports providing comparative information on production, yields, efficiency, running time, labour and power costs, raw materials usage and finished product stock for review by senior management.

Undertakes projects relating to plant expansion and/or production improvements as directed by senior management.

Defines, communicates and enforces ISO standards within the company.

Participate in technical meetings to ensure that all operational matters comply with company & regulation standards.

Update and revise Company policies and procedures (SOP’s) as and when required.

Provide technical assistance and expertise to manufacturing, in order to address quality problems and obtain greater process capability and efficiency. Serves as quality technology resource.

Develop staff development objectives/plans and executes same through training opportunities.

Ability to perform immediate corrective actions.

Maintains plant in satisfactory working and undertakes periodic inspections of maintenance work carried out to ensure that high standards are maintained.

Establish control necessary in achievement of complete control for product quality.
