Artificial Insemination

We have the full range of equipment needed for carrying out fresh and frozen semen A.I. We also have the facility to store frozen semen for future use, if so required.

We offer a broad range of surgical services including ‘wind surgeries’ (such as Hobday, staphalectomy and soft palate thermo-cautery) corrective procedures for foal limb deformities, castration, cryptorchid (rig) surgery, hernia reduction, joint and tendon flushes, wound repair and a range of standing procedures such as sinusotomy and mare reproduction corrective surgeries.

We can provide many of the current major advances seen in lameness investigation, aided by high quality ultra-sound equipment and direct digital radiography.

We offer full hospitalisation and 24-hour intensive care for all in-patients. (Left Image: Coco, our generous blood donor.)

Our mobile service provides on-site veterinary care to owners and trainers within an approximate 50 km radius of the practice.

For studs these services include mare/stallion reproduction, foal care, mobile direct digital radiography and advice on disease control/prevention programmes.

For raceyards and other training establishments, we also offer a full range of services, including respiratory disease control, poor performance investigation and lameness work-ups.

Pre-Sales Examinations/Vettings

Our Vets are on the pre-sales veterinary panels for Goffs, Tattersalls, Goresbridge and Cavan Sales companies. We also perform sales-standard survey radiograph sets with our portable digital radiography system (Eklin System).
