About Ausable River Center
The ARC, built by the Civilian Conservation Corps in 1939, is now a museum devoted to the history of fishing, canoeing and life along this famed trout stream, including the towns of Roscommon and Grayling. It features exhibits on canoe racing, Verlen Kruger, Jack’s Fly Shop, Chief Shoppenagon and area natural resources. The Center hosts the AuSable River Festival in July and offers a winter class in canoe building
