CSCS Signing Lighting and Guarding for Roadwork’s
Awarding Body: FAS
Who should attend: Managers , Supervisors and operators who are required to plan, organise, direct, control and manage the safe free flow of traffic through road works in rural and urban situations . Under the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (Construction) Regulations 2006, this training will be mandatory from June 2009.

CSCS Detection of Underground Services

Awarding Body: FAS
Who should attend: All those involved in detection and avoidance of Underground Services. Under the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (Construction) Regulations 2006, this training will be mandatory from June 2009. The course is designed to make participants aware of the dangers involved in excavating It will also train delegates in the use of cable detection equipment and to detect and avoid most buried services
Course content:
• Overview of relevant legislation and Codes of Practice
• Risk Assessment and preparation of work
• Safe system of work
• Introduction to locate & detection equipment-functional checks
• Practical on site location of underground services
• Practical exercises incorporating all associated equipment
• Safe digging techniques
• Correct maintenance and storage of equipment
Course Duration: 2 days
Participation: maximum of 8
Certification: FAS/FETAC Certification which is valid for 5 years
