Absence Matters

We know from our long experience in dealing with virtually every aspect of employee health that every client will be different. For example, some may need help with data capture; some may be keen to make early intervention more effective, others may want to review existing long term absence cases and try to facilitate a return to work. All our programmes can be customised accordingly but for the sake of clarity we have categorised our core services under three broad product classifications and these are set out here:

Absence Manager

Our experience tells us that managers often find staff health issues difficult, emotive and time consuming.  Equally, absence monitoring can be poorly documented for the same reasons.   We have therefore created a call centre, based in our Head Office, which is staffed by clinical and call intake specialists operating an effective absence tracking facility.  Their mission is to:

• Accurately log all staff absences.
• Use the Bio-Psycho-Social model and the Medical Disability Adviser (MDA) to predict estimated absence duration.
• Provide immediate absence reporting to managers and Human Resources as required.
• Record and report subsequent return to work.
• Compile accurate management information and reports including cost of absence.

Absence Manager Plus

This provides all the benefits of the call centre and reporting facilities but goes one stage further by:

• Call back to absentee by a qualified nurse to discuss condition.
• Case managed by telephone to ensure optimum return to work.
• Provision of all information needed for an effective return to work interview .
• In depth reports including:
• Red flag identification (Musculo-skeletal, stress etc) .
• Full cost and duration analysis.

Absence Manager Premier

This is our “Blue Riband” service which is bespoke to each individual customer and provides an all inclusive solution to absence management.  Some of the benefits include:

• Complete return to work planning including liaison with employer/HR/OH to facilitate any phased return or work place adaptations.
• Complex case management including referrals to appropriate medical professionals.
• Advice on early medical intervention where this may facilitate an earlier return to work.
• In depth management information and reporting including trend analysis.

This is a brief overview of some of the ways we help our customers to effectively measure, monitor and manage their staff absence.  Other services we offer are:

• Complete or selected HR policy review and implementation.
• Early retirement assessments.
• Home visits by clinical staff.
• Legal assistance.
